Who are we?

Esika: the living dream of a child from Northern Uganda.

Raised at at the confluence between city & country, old & new, peace & violence; Co-Founder, Paul Ocen, knew that true success was not just for him, but for his loved ones, his community, and his environment.

With this mindset, the choices of anyone have the potential to liberate everyone.

...

East African Shea Butter (Vitellaria Nilotica), has been held as a blessing to the indigenous Lango, and Acholi tribes. In Northern Uganda, Nilotica Shea Butter has been used from birth to death as a honoured part of their traditional cultural practices. As a Lango man himself, Paul, has grown up with the love of Shea Butter and knowledge that the natural nourishing and healing properties it had were the key to uplifting his homeland, and beyond.

The question was; how?

Then, one evening, Paul was chatting with his wife, Beth, and their friend, Kat, about their dreams of the future. Dreaming of community, sustainability, creativity, family; joyful harmonious adventures stretching out into infinity. But more than that. They realised that they had to be the ones to build it.

This is when Paul disclosed his ambition of producing raw, organic, unrefined East African Shea Butter. Kat and Beth were amazed.

Despite growing up in Brazil; the heart of holistic cosmetics industry, Kat (Co-Founder) had never even heard of Nilotica Shea Butter.

Beth (Co-Founder) told stories of how the this Shea Butter had completely transformed her sensitive and acne-prone skin and aided in her the adjustment from UK to Uganda. Beth had seen first hand the natural healing property of this powerful product, and each person she had shared the Shea Butter with was speechless at the simple fact that no one in the UK knows this miracle balm exists, despite it being the solution their skin, hair and health needs.

Before their eyes, the path emerged. Esika revealed herself.

Ethically and sustainably produced East African Shea Butter of the highest possible quality. To heal our bodies, to heal our communities, to heal our environment.
